Jun 26th, 2026.
All I want to do lately is lay around the pool and get some sun, read books, listen to oldies. I can’t get enough of love songs and music of the past. Lately, I have been gravitating to primarily listening to old music. (Unless I am at the gym of course) my Spotify is shuffled between the likes of Brenton Wood, Aaron Neville, and Donnie Elbert.
While laying by the water I have thoughts about my teacher certification I got in December of 2025 and how I am considering teaching others soon. With my unemployment looming in the background it has me looking elsewhere for a future. I don’t want to go back to the things I have been doing for the past 15 years. I want to work in a field that inspires me daily, one where I can truly help people and fuel my own passions as well.
So every other day I make my way down to the pool with a milky strawberry banana smoothie in hand. I put my music on, and I read.

I am grateful to this time of reflection. Writing every morning for the past two months has helped me gain clarity and inspiration like I haven’t experienced in such a long time. It feels so good to write again, to think clearly, and to dream again. Writing is giving me the peace I have been looking for and I really don’t know why or how I ever stopped. It is a beautiful thing to sit down with yourself and allow yourself to just be. To give yourself the allowance to say what you need to say and to put it down on paper. Get it all out. The good and the bad.
I had this thought a few weeks ago in New York as I was playing tourist. I was running around the city trying to get as much time with it- looking in any crevice I could for inspiration knowing it was all just a fleeting moment. I fell in love with NYC and I felt so grateful for the opportunity to be there and to explore. It had me thinking about my own city where I reside and how I never play tourist enough here. I dreamed of moving to San Diego about five years ago. Then two years pass I meet a man, fall in love, and now I am here. So funny how life has a way of handing you your dreams, sometimes on a plate and all. I told myself when I get back to San Diego I must make more time to adventure around all the cities and neighborhoods around me. Since moving here I have not done it enough.

Summer has just started and I am going to relish in every second of it. I will continue this ritual of mine throughout the summer. Everyday I can get the opportunity to squeeze in some sun and on days I am able to make it out farther then the pool I will. I really want to spend a day in La Jolla soon.
The summer plan:
- write here in the digital diary, daily
- designated vitamin D time either at the pool or the beach if possible
- strawberry banana smoothies on repeat
- oldies but goodies playlists
- pilates education and movement
- infinite tan lines and 100% cotton bikinis
- explore san diego weekly <3
I feel very blessed right now in my life. I am in constant gratitude to God and the world around me. Here is to the start of an incredible summer in San Diego!
